Meta Invests $900 Million in India's CRED, Names Founder Kunal Shah as New WhatsApp Global Head

Meta Platforms has taken a roughly 20% stake in Indian fintech firm CRED through a $900 million investment, valuing the company at $4.5 billion. As part of the deal, CRED founder Kunal Shah will become WhatsApp's global head, succeeding Will Cathcart, who is moving to a new AI-focused role at Meta.
